In 2011, St. Martin’s Press/Thomas Dunne Books published Matt’s critically acclaimed novel, Vacation. The sequel, Home, will appear in 2012. In addition, in 2013, St. Martin’s will release his epic science fiction collaboration with author Rick Hautala, Star Road.

His early acclaimed horror novel Beneath Still Waters, filmed by Lions Gate and Filmax, has been released world-wide on DVD and had its cable premiere on The SyFy Channel. His novel, Out of Time, has been optioned by Electric Entertainment (‘The Patriot’, ‘Independence Day’). Costello also wrote Rage, his novel based on the award-winning game he scripted and The Island of the Skull (Pocket Books), an original prequel to Peter Jackson’s ‘King Kong’.

Matt’s children’s series The Kids of Einstein Elementary, published by Scholastic and written with Len Mlodinow, blends math and adventure. The first two books, The Last Dinosaur and The Titanic Cat, were released in 2005. Other works for children include Magic Everywhere (Random House) and The Greatest Games of All Time.
